Security-Widefield is an unincorporated community just southeast of Colorado Springs that built up rapidly from the 1950s through the 1980s, largely to house Fort Carson and Peterson personnel and their families. The area has a dense concentration of modest single-family homes, many of them original ranch-style builds with the same carpet that has been down since the Reagan era.
